Thanks to all the bands who participated on the Bring It Back To Life CD to benefit the Central Terminal. Special thanks to No Effect, Breakerbox, McCarthyizm, The Feast, and The Filter Kings for their great job performing last night at the CD Release Party. And a big thank you to Greg Wojda for putting…
Phigment turned me on to a new site – CodingHorror.com. I especially like this post on Egoless Programming: 1. Understand and accept that you will make mistakes. 2. You are not your code. 3. No matter how much “karate” you know, someone else will always know more. 4. Don’t rewrite code without consultation. 5. Treat…
Five years ago, Amanda and I were married. It’s been wonderful, and we’re looking forward to this next chapter in our lives together.
In what may be one of the stupidest governmental resolutions yet… right from my own backyard: Hamburg councilwoman Kathy Hochul says the town is hoping to make a statement to big oil companies by targeting one of them with a gas boycott. She says town vehicles will not be refilling gas tanks at any Exxon-Mobil…
Amanda and I returned from a weekend trip to Michigan for my cousin’s wedding (congrats again, Jen!). The ceremony was beautiful and the reception was a great time, with some excellent, personal flourishes. My favorite was having the entire wait staff enter to “Be Our Guest” carrying their silver platters to begin serving dinner. The…
It was a very low-key Valentine’s Day for us. Amanda was home sick all day (I’ve been denying all day that my throat feels kinda scratchy too). I got home, snowblowed the driveway, helped cook up some pork onion stroganoff (one of my favorites), and we slothed out on the couch and watched TV. Amanda…
Hi! I write you for different reasons. The first one to tell you I enjoyed your pics from Belgium. I went there last year and I think it’s an awesome place. The other reason is because we share the same lastname, this is: Punaro. I am mexican, and back there all the people that share this lastname are the descendents of the late Mr. José Asuncion Punaro (this is my grandfather from my mother’s side). The funny thing is that we don’t know the origen of the Punaro name. So, each time I have a chance, I seach to see if by any chance I find a clue. Some time ago I was told it is from northen Italy. Do you have an idea? Thank and hope you don’t bother for using this space that I imagine it’s reserved for your family and close friends.
The name does originate in Italy. Somewhere, I have some images of Ellis Island records of my ancestors coming over to the U.S. I’ll post them when I have a chance. I do not know where the Mexican branch would have started!
