May was the Month of Drywall. To be fair, we were warned ahead of time that once we hit the drywall stage it would seem like things were going to slow down. And that was before COVID-19. The entire drywall process took just over 5 weeks – two weeks and change to hang it and…
Oktoberfest at the Terminal went pretty darn well this year! Our biggest problem was that while we had more tables than in the past, we didn’t have more chairs to go with them, so some people were complaining about the lack of seating. However, this year we didn’t run out of food or beer and…
Incremental progress over the last couple weeks. Drain tile and waterproofing was added. One the foundation was inspected, backfilling and rough grading was done. Our other accomplishment was to rent a Bobcat and turn our mountain of wood chips into a nice hiking trail! Stay tuned for a future video showing the hiking trail! Probably…
Swing on over to the Buffalo Central Terminal web site for some photos of yesterday’s wine festival!
This is my new favorite photo of the Terminal, taken from outside of Arty’s during the Alive Night party on Friday. It’s a nice, full shot where you can see the tower, the concourse arch, and even the baggage building, yet it’s far enough away that you don’t see all the gritty details. I’m thinking…
Since getting rejected to be a contributing photographer to istockphoto.com, I’m challenging myself to take better photographs. Here’s a shot I took today that I really like:
Hi! I write you for different reasons. The first one to tell you I enjoyed your pics from Belgium. I went there last year and I think it’s an awesome place. The other reason is because we share the same lastname, this is: Punaro. I am mexican, and back there all the people that share this lastname are the descendents of the late Mr. José Asuncion Punaro (this is my grandfather from my mother’s side). The funny thing is that we don’t know the origen of the Punaro name. So, each time I have a chance, I seach to see if by any chance I find a clue. Some time ago I was told it is from northen Italy. Do you have an idea? Thank and hope you don’t bother for using this space that I imagine it’s reserved for your family and close friends.
The name does originate in Italy. Somewhere, I have some images of Ellis Island records of my ancestors coming over to the U.S. I’ll post them when I have a chance. I do not know where the Mexican branch would have started!
