Nice to hear

Every once in awhile I get an email from someone who would like to use the music I wrote for A Midsummer Night’s Dream. Since I have yet to get around to publishing it or making a quality recording, I always tell the person they’re free to use it as long as they credit me in the program and send me a copy for my collection. I recently got this email back from the last person to put on a show with my music:

Dear Mr. Punaro,

Our play was an extraordinary success, unified greatly by your music!

The Bergomask brought down the house. The students take the music to parties and dance it at every opportunity. You have given us all great joy.

Ha! I can’t imagine a bunch of kids dancing to my Bergomask dance at parties, but I suspect they’re pretty young. What a great note to get, though!
