Fly Away Flu

Working with kids is the best experience in the world! It is also the worst for getting sick. I have always been the type of person to get sick easily. Don’t know why exactly, but if there’s something to catch, I’ll catch it with a vengence. I actually had a boyfriend once kiss me purposely when he had a bad cold just to see if it would get me sick……dumb-ass. (His name was Earl, guess I’m on his list now, huh?;) ) Anyway, I love my job, but here I am sick again. ( Fighting a headache and chills to write this so I can get it off my chest and go back to sleep.) The first year at a new teaching job is ALWAYS the worst. You catch everything that is in the building until you have an immunity to it and can be at work every day. They have a bonus program for those of us who come into work every day, I’m not getting it anytime soon. I am one of those people who, if they don’t feel well, stay home and rest so they can get over it sooner. Why would I want to be sick longer, and give it to everyone at work at the same time? I also have to be at the top of my game with these kids as well. They are behavioral, dependent and craving constant attention. If I feel like I do today, dizzy, nauseous, achy and hot, how can I take care of my kids? I don’t think I can, so I stay home and get better so I can go back tomorrow and do what I need to do.

Alright, enough bitching from me. I feel horrible about missing work on top of just plain feeling horrible. Wish I could eat something to make me feel better. 🙂
