Extra busy week
This is like a super extra busy week for me. My supervisor is out of town for training, and that leaves me in charge of our team of two. That in itself wouldn’t be a big deal, except that this week marks the start of our benefits enrollment period, the single busiest time of year in terms of use of the intranet. All our U.S. employees are required to make their benefits elections online, and therefore we get everyone who only uses it once a year to [attempt to] sign on. This process always uncovers some interesting bugs in the system.
On top of that, the SCVA Art Show is this weekend at the Terminal. It’s our first actual event of the year and involves a ton of work. Combine that with the building committee meeting tonight and the board meeting tomorrow and will mean that starting with this past Saturday I’ll have been at the Terminal Saturday, Monday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, Saturday, Sunday, and next Monday. Luckily after that we get a short break and I can go back to working on press releases and such.
Then there’s round 3 of the Sabres playoffs coming up, completing ripping out my old deck, normal spring yardwork, and all the other routine stuff that needs to happen. Things don’t get boring around here very often.
Thanks for all your help, as always, Derek! I was at the terminal this morning at 5am with Brad to do a spot for the Ch. 2 news at 6am. The show looks fantastic! After this, we’ll have a lull until June 23rd. It’ll be a much needed break!
