The debate raged on [and off] for years, but in the end the Atwater house disappeared in a flash. Many years ago I requested that a new key be added to every developer’s keyboard – the EXP, or “Execute Programmer” key – which would send 5,000 volts through any programmer needing to be removed from the world’s programming pool.
I think it would have saved many of us considerable grief in the long run.
