Handles like a go-kart
Been swamped at work this week, so I haven’t even had a chance to give an update on the new car. I picked it up Tuesday night. In a final fit of protest by the Eclipse, as I pulled the plug from the radar detector out of the power outlet it completely fell apart into so many pieces I couldn’t even find them all. I’ll be looking for a convenient place to hardwire it to into the WRX this weekend.
Actually parting with the Eclipse wasn’t as hard as I was anticipating, it was the buildup that was tougher than the actual act. The WRX is just phenominal. All Wheel Drive cars handle totally differently than front or rear wheel drive cars. I feel like I’m driving a go-kart. The steering is just that responsive – even in the snow. Now, every time I see a few flakes fall, I get really excited for my next driving experience.
We proved the grocery-getterness of it last night with a trip to BJs. The wagon/hatchback makes it super easy to load heavy things in and out. It really confirmed my preference for hatchbacks over traditional trunks.
Best new feature (besides the AWD) has got to be the heated seats. I’ve got a feeling that Amanda will make it a requirement for the next car she buys. Overall, the WRX is a ton of fun to drive. No regrets about nixing the Eclipse! Photos soon!
I’m with you totally, Derek. You listed all my favorite things about my Volvo: the steering, the AWD, and the convenience of a wagon. And of course, the heated seats!!
Santa Fe is the same…We love all the benefits we have (same as WRX) with the sunroof, heated seats, and SUV capabitlity/room. Gas is great too for that type of car… Huge space in back with seats down..
Glad Derek, it is all wheel drive..Snow is, as you say, alittle bit easier we found too…..
Have fun!
