Don’t look back

I was cruising around Club3G the other day, posting up for sale some spare parts I still had laying around from the Eclipse, and I ran across a thread with one of the old Eclipse commercials in it:

The commercial was a nice bit of near-term nostalgia, but several of the people in the thread were saying stuff like this:

“i was what…..like 13-14. That was the first time i even saw this car. I thought it was so cool and how i wanted to get it when i was “older”.”

Wow. I bought my Eclipse when I was 23 and sold it now, when I’m 29. Now 13 year old kids who “grew up” are buying my trade-in. I guess that pretty much describes the lifecycle of trendy, yet affordable sporty cars.
