A couple photos

Took these while at the Central Terminal tonight.

Fifteen minutes later I was in a torrential downpour in East Aurora.

It could help with the demolitions too

Poor Dave Franczyk is having some troubles this week, due to his flippant use of the term “ethnic cleansing” in regards to the Catholic church consolidating parishes on the east side. Since music soothes, I thought I’d send him this virtual present.

Dyngus Day

April 10, 2007 at 11:52 am by Derek

Thanks to WNYMedia.net for putting together this video covering last night’s Dyngus Day festivities at the Terminal, and in the whole Broadway-Fillmore area. It was certainly the most “alive” that I’ve seen the East Side, well, ever!
The Terminal was cold… so cold in fact that the tap lines from the beer kegs froze [...]

January 27, 2007 at 4:36 pm by Derek

Word travels fast in the blogosphere, as Buffalo Rising already has a story on Bashar Issa’s visit to the Central Terminal on Friday.
Bashar Issa spent over two hours yesterday touring the Central Terminal on Buffalo’s East Side – the same time we were touring the DL&W. Why? Because he is fascinated with the city’s architectural [...]

A reconfiguration for Transfiguration

December 5, 2006 at 9:47 pm by Derek

Fix Buffalo has an interesting idea for a reuse of Transfiguration Church - tearing down the broken parts and leaving the shell surrounding an interesting urban park. I think that’s the best idea I’ve heard for Transfiguration so far. The building is in very rough shape, and frankly it’s just not likely that [...]
